Lizzy's Baptism

Aren't these just the cutest kids? This was at Elizabeth's baptism on March 2 in Michigan. (I'm just figuring out the picture thing) Gage wasn't planning on singing but just went up impromptu. Unfortunatly, my camera only does one minute of video so the end of the song is missing.

Winter's last spit...hopefully....maybe....HA!

Last Thursday we were awakened with the ringing of the phone at 6:15 a.m. That usually means just one thing....Fremont school district is closed due to weather. But this was a whole week after the first day of spring!?!? I looked out to see what was going on but couldn't see much. We were having a ferocious ground blizzard! There was a sheet of ice on the hiway, 3-4 foot drifts across the roads and zero visibilty at times. I called it Winter's last spit. But alas, it was not the last one. We had snowing and blowing this morning too! Not as bad as last Thursday, because no schools were closed but still.....it's almost April! PLEEEEASE!
These pictures were taken about a month ago. Craig is standing by the drift that has been behind our house. The cats are sitting atop this same drift looking in the dining room window. It has mostly melted now (there's only 3 feet left) But the drift on the northside of the house is still about 6 feet deep and is not melting very fast. Aaahhhh! IDAHO

Oh-oh! It's been to long since Rob showed me how to do this and I don't remember. Maybe it will post...I hope.
Last week, I used the rest of my saved up ski money and went skiing twice! Targhee had a two for one special on Tuesdays in Feb. and the first 2 Tuesdays in March. So I found a friend to go with me and we went skiing at Targhee. I realize I get a little freaked out on steep slopes and do a lot of traversing. It makes for a long run. Although my friend (Nancy J.) hadn't been skiing for ten years, she had to wait for me a lot. But we had a great time and the day was nice. The sun even came out a few times. Then on Friday, I went to Kelly Canyon for one last time this season. They closed Sunday. What a shame, too...they still have really good snow and a lot of it...an anomaly for Kelly. It was a beautiful day and the sun came out quite a bit. Funny thing, it was sunny skies everywhere except up Kelly Canyon. The clouds kind of got stuck on the mountains.
Kelly had about 3-4" of new snow and it was nice skiing. But my first run down, I realized that it had not been a long enough time since the day at Targhee for my legs to fully recuperate...ouch!
Sandy, Shawn and Jeff took Andrew up to teach him how to ski. Six-year-olds look very tiny on the hill. Andrew did well for the first time. He could snowplow in control and could make turns when someone hollered at him to turn. He like going straight down the hill and the fact that his rental skiis had "fire" on them. The last run of the day, I was skiing by Sandy as she was with Andrew and Grandpa Jeff came along. Andrew started following Jeff and Sandy and I assumed all was well. Only problem was that Jeff didn't know Andrew was behind him and Jeff was going fast down the mountain. When Sandy and I came over the hill, there was Andrew, facedown in the snow with his skiis torn off further up the hill. Shawn was helping him as we got there. Andrew was crying,"Grandpa was going too fast! "

It has been fun skiing this year because we've actually had some snow. It's too long of winter here not to get out and do something in the snow. Although the Prius is the pits on slick winter roads, it makes it up to Kelly Canyon just fine so I guess we'll keep it a while longer, especially with gas prices going up and up.

In Michigan

I now know why every new blogger's first post starts out: I finally figured out how to work this #%&*# blog! You have to have someone who is younger than 50 to show you how to work one of these &*#$% things. Robby showed me how here in Michigan.
We are here for Elizabeth's baptism. Yes, she is really eight-years-old.
It is as snowy here as it is in Idaho. Colder, though. Visiting Michigan is the only time I say I want to go to Idaho to get warm! We have had a wonderful visit here since last Thursday. We go home tomorrow. When I get home, I will try for pictures. Ha! I keep saying that!
